 Tampa Mustangs – Seymour, ranked #20 in the 14U Club Rankings, finished PGF Show Me the Money in 3rd place during last week’s tournament, which was all the more impressive when factoring in there were six teams in the Top 10 and 15 teams ranked in the Top 50 of the ratings.

Tampa Mustangs – Seymour

 

Tampa Mustangs Seymour took the 1 seed in its pool going 3-0 with wins against Beverly Bandits – Chow (#4), Virginia Unity – Johnson (#9), Mississippi Thunderbolts – Sheffield (37).

On Friday afternoon as bracket play began, the Mustangs defeated Florida Storm06 and then took down #10 ranked Birmingham Thunderbolts – Kaplan 9-1 before falling 3-0 to eventual champion Birmingham Thunderbolts – Burns.

Mustangs – Seymour came back Sunday morning with two big wins: a 4-1 victory over Birmingham Thunderbolts – Kemp and an exciting 7-6 comeback win against Demarini Aces Fastpitch and in the game against Beverly Bandits – Chow to determine who would play in the title game against the Bolts, the Bandits held off a late charge by Mustangs – Seymour to win 8-7 and advance to the championship game.

So far this summer, Seymour is led in the circle by Presley Harrison (ERA 1.84, WHIP 1.095 122K’s, 95 IP) and Lexi King (ERA 2.57, WHIP 1.193, 43K’s, 57 IP). Offensively leading the way has been Karhys Pierce (BA .494, 2 doubles, 8 triples, 2 HR, 21 RBI, 28 Runs), Caiden Oliva (BA .440 3 HR, 6 doubles, 3 triples, 19 RBI, 28 Runs) and Alexis Camilleri (BA .420, 5 doubles, 2 HR, 23 RBI, 25 Runs).

The Mustangs Seymour team is composed of girls in the graduating class of 2024. The mission for the team is to enhance player development by building a positive self-image within the framework of sportsmanship and respecting the game. We play the game with class, dignity, and a desire to become a better young lady on the field and in our community. We work hard on the fundamentals of the game and diligently in the classroom. Our team goal is to develop skills to succeed at the next level of softball and life. We will play a competitive schedule working our way into ASA and various showcases around the country.
